18th Military Police Brigade, Saigon, 1968

 

 The 18th Military Police Brigade arrived in Vietnam in October 1966. Headquartered in Long Binh, the Brigade controlled all non-divisional MP units in Vietnam. The 18th MP Brigade, through its 716th MP Battalion was also responsible for the security of US installations in the Saigon area. It saw heavy street fighting during the Tet Offensive in January 1968. This photo series shows a police operation in downtown Saigon in late 1968.
